Mai Pen Rai never means Mind - a personal view of the Thai Culture

In 1995, while living in the U.S., I was offered a great job in Thailand. My vision of Thailand was exotic and wild, with jungles, beaches and temples, but at the same time, I knew nothing of the culture or people.

As part of preparations for the move, the company gave me the book "Mai Pen Rai means Never Mind by Carol Hollinger. The subtitle of the book" An American housewife love story true to the irrepressible human Thailand. Ibegan to read, but not at once, and then decided it would be better if I had formed my opinion and left the book alone.

I just read, 10 years after his departure from Thailand and I have absolutely enjoyed every minute.

Carol Hollinger was Thailand with her husband in his work, but decided to go and do what they want. He got a job as a lecturer at the best universities in Thailand and immersed himself in so much contact with ThaiPeople who could.

She was lucky, people will be able to meet Thai, influential, and some foreign key, and all their deepest and most meaningful experiences of most people have done, but at every step, took the opportunity, no matter As strange up close and personal with the earth, animals, people, history, food, buildings, and what else could find.
